Permission to Smack?
As I was leaving Peet's Coffee with some friends today, a lady on the patio commented to me, "On your way to the hospital?" Then she started laughing.
It was awkward because I was just walking and laughing with my friends. I was doing nothing to suggest that I was agonizing or rushing or anything. It just caught me off guard.
I said, "Yeah, I wish." Then walked away.
Apparently it's funny to see other people in discomfort. *Smack*
